He concentrated on the central truth of the gospel (redemption through Christ) and on the power of the Holy Spirit. He was quite aware of his human limitations, his personal inadequacy, and his inner fear and trembling. Consequently, he did not rely on himself but on his message and on the Holy Spirit (v4). This resulted in a greater demonstration of the Spirit’s work and power.
