What we believe

Word of God or The Bible

We believe that the Bible both Old & New Testaments, are verbally inspired by God and is God’s written revelation to man, of His infallible, authoritative rule of our faith and conduct.

Jesus Christ

We believe in one true and living God that God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit—and these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, each worthy of the same reverence, worship and obedience. He is the Creator of all things; Eternal with unlimited power.

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of voluntary transgression fell from his holy estate and was alienated from God. The entire human race is born into and shares in man’s sinful and depraved nature.

Atonement for Sin

We believe that atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross by the shedding of His Blood.

Repentance and Remission of Sin

We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is accepting through repentance and faith the precious Blood of Christ made possible by Christ’s death on the cross.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity and Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance. The church of Jesus Christ is a baptized church, an anointed church, sealed with Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit performs the miracle of the new birth in an unbeliever by dwelling within us. It was according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewal, enabling us to live a Godly life.

Initial Evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe the initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost is “speaking in other tongues,” as experienced on the day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

Salvation

We believe the directive according to Scripture, is to repent of your sins, be baptized in water as exemplified by Christ Himself and receive the Holy Ghost. It is a process beginning with conviction, forgiveness and that brings repentance; then the public declaration to be baptized in water. The end of salvation is when we take our last breath.

Sanctification

We believe sanctification initially occurs when the believer begins living a life dedicated to serving God. It is a lifelong process, by which the believer is separated from sin. It is by reading the Word of God and by the effective operation of the Holy Spirit that believers continually draw closer to God and strive to become more Christ like. Sanctification results in holiness, purification from the guilt and power of sin.

Ordinances of the Church – Water Baptism & the Holy Supper

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ in Scripture, are Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized by immersion, as exemplified by Christ Himself. By this obedience, believers declare that Christ died for their sins and resurrected from the dead. The Lord’s Supper, consisting of bread (symbolic of His body, broken for us) and wine (symbolic of His blood, shed for remission of sins) as exemplified by Christ Himself in Scripture, expresses our devotion to Him and sharing of the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. Partakers of the Lord’s Supper are only those who have committed their life to Christ through the public declaration of Water Baptism.

Divine Healing

We believe in prayer for the sick and divine healing by the power of God according to Scripture.

Church

We believe ‘the Church’ is the body of Christ; the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit. Each believer, baptized of the Spirit according to the Book of Acts, is an integral part of the “General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn.”

Ministry

We believe that a divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry as called and provided by our Lord serves a two-fold purpose: the edifying of the body of Christ, (the Church) and the evangelization of the World.

Resurrection or Rapture

We believe in ‘the Blessed Hope’—when Jesus raptures His church prior to His return to earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.

Final Judgment

We believe a final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. That the dead, will stand before God; the book of life will be opened: and the dead will be judged out of those things which are written in the book, according to their works. And whosoever is not found written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.

New Heaven and New Earth

We believe according to His promise, and look forward to the perfect new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness, that Christ is preparing for His church, following His millennial reign on Earth. We will live and dwell with Him in righteousness forever, “And so shall we forever be with the Lord!”
