Did you ever have a moment of doubt and ask God, “Why do you stand far off, Lord? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?” David asked that question. He saw what looked like injustice, the wicked prospering. In Isaiah 13:1 he asks, “How long will you forget me, Lord? Forever? How long will you hide your face from me?” Do you ever feel temporarily abandoned by God? Like David, sometimes we become doubtful, depressed, lonely and overwhelmed when trials drag on with no end in sight. No one likes to wait, but God’s delays always have a purpose. Being in God’s waiting room strengthens our faith, teaches us patience and dependence on God and refines our spiritual character. God is faithful! Lord, teach us to wait.
